Since I'm not too concerned about which of these two turkeys wins, I'm sort of hoping that some academic goes down there, conducts a valid, auditable count under the Freedom of Information act, and discovers that a sitting president was never actually elected in any traditional sense. It's probably only a 25% chance or so (since Little Brother & friends will try to cover it up if true), but it could happen. Democrat felons and Republican soldiers aside, the election was a murky mess in a state governed by a Bush. It's not at all unlikely that Gore actually got more votes in Florida than Dubya, possibly a lot more.

If that unprecedented event happens it'll be interesting to see what the media does with it.

Florida is a legal nightmare. I believe Justice Department looks into the matter of voters who were not allowed to vote even though they had their registration cards.
