ot i have had many burgandies and, while there are some great wines, they are just absurd in price. I just won't buy them. In the summer of 1997, a friend of mine and I drove through the Loire, Bordeaux, Burgandy and Champagne. We enjoyed driving through Romanee Conti. We visited some winemakers in Burgandy and, on the whole, it was interesting but not outstanding. I still prefer California and Italian wines to French wine.
