He originally spoke to Matthews back when the mantra was "full, fair, and accurate count". Any admission by Jacobs that he was talking to the Gore legal team would have given people the impression that Gore was not actually interested in a "full" count.

(The fact that it's actually a recount of ballots, and not a count of votes, is dismissed by most viewers.)

Right after that, you'll recall, the mantra changed to "full, fair, accurate, and legal".

That will change now, since the additional partial recount has been ruled to be unnecessary.

I see Jerry Nadler is on MSNBC, and he's toned down the "whiff of fascism" rhetoric. Maybe he just finished his meal.
