Are you saying you saw that happen?

You asked about standards - what standards would you recommend?

Well said TLC. And we can even bring it closer to home I believe.

Democrats, who enforced chad standards for over a decade in places like Palm Beach County changed those standards for this election. Only for this election did they change the standards to allow a more lenient subjective assessment of the ballots.

Ellen is saying the votes will one day be known with some certainty, and after they're known, Gore could be declared the winner. Yet, the standard she is willing to accept, is a standard which was never accepted in the State of Florida before. Especially, in Palm Beach. The simple fact is that no one will EVER know for sure if Gore had more votes than Bush in Florida. And to believe otherwise is simply spin.

What Democrats are conveniently forgetting is that clear rules were in place prior to the election. "Completely remove all chad materials" (or words to that effect) were stated on the ballot, and in bold letters in many precincts. The voter was informed of the rules.

Once years ago, I misunderstood a local levy and voted opposite what I wanted to vote. It never occurred to me to go whining to my local congressperson that I was confused and should get a revote, or some other compensation. The voter has SOME responsibility to follow the rules and figure out a simple process like a punch card ballot.

Democrats, for the last 40 years, have been successful in creating a sub-culture of society known as *victims*. The growth of this deterministic mindset needs to end. Al Gore and his followers, going on this charade of a whining legal process, are feeding this growth of needy victims in our society.

You have a right to vote, and to have your vote counted. You don't have a right to not make an error. And we shouldn't legislate that by changing the rules and laws after the election to ensure it.
