On stocks I wonder how they deal with the pass through fees on ECNs. I can route an order to INCA and pay the flat penny a share, and I understand that INCA charges a penny and a half per. I assume that because they're so large that they've negotiated this fee down. Of course not sending physical confirms and statements and not allowing the possibility of a client going into debt to the firm improves their bottom line. Not paying credit interest on the first 10k of cash is pretty much the same as charging a monthly fee for keeping the account open.

I agree, a most annoying thing. Perhaps that will change with the new interface.
