MSFT could grow earnings by 50%+ in calendar year 2001. If you consider windows platform sales is about 12B; and factor in 71% of that will be windows2000(IDC) and factor in Gartner's 25% PC growth in general, one gets a whopping 10B more windows related sales itself. I assume 2x revenue per license on W2K compared to ME or 98. Add all the other goodies like MSN (100% growth); servers; .net that growth can be even higher. All said done I see potential for 40 - 50% revenue growth too. Earnings may grow 50 - 80% some quarters.

The IDC report yesterday on windows2000 was too encouraging to me. It basically said, what I felt => lot of corporations have budgeted windows2000 upgrade starting December. And it is coming true.

Windows2000 upgrade is a loaded freight train, that has left the station.
