That is a good indication that Intel has been able to build some parts. But if you consider that the two chips have roughly comparable performance, but one costs 3 times what the other costs (after factoring in motherboard and memory), it makes Intel's job of keeping inventory available quite a bit easier.

P4 is priced as a corporate workstation but marketed as an internet appliance/gaming machine - it's going to be (relatively) easy to keep them in stock.
