I've made two trips to Ireland in the last two years. On both trips Clinton was referred to as a great world leader -you are right.

I don't think many care about his lack of fidelity. Most are offended by his legalistic disobedience to the law. Most presidents fear the law and abide within it.Clinton manipulates it and bends it.JMHO

Good enough for the people - Good enough for the president. He has been less of a leader in this regard.

GZ

I am sure the Chinese love him. Heck, they upgraded their military abilities for pennies on the dollar.

GZ, do you really think Clinton did ANYTHING in the last 4 years ? I don't think so. I think the country was being piloted by the market and the technological revolution. He was lucky and couldn't meddle because of opponents in the Congress.

Clinton has great personal characteristics. He is a very charming man who can speak very well and show empathy. Maybe he is really empathic. This makes a good theatre abroad because they don't know the complete story and don't get to experience his ruthlessness. Also, people abroad are used to scandals by their leaders. That is just another day for them.
