Jim L; re: trading tech...

I bought some QQQ's yesterday as I began closing out shorts, the last shorts closed this am.

I see tech as a short-term window trading opp here; but I won't venture into individual stocks - as while LSI warned & didn't crash & burn; I don't think the overnight 30% haircut game is over. I'd play Tech via the QQQ's right here and I am - albeit; a pretty small position and I bought as much as a hedge as I closed out a small/moderate short position as much as a long trading position. But; as I've closed out all shorts here; I'll let these QQQ's run... raise trailing stops; maybe get a net 10-15% 3-5 day swing trade.

WCOM is interesting & LU certainly cheap - how about 3Com/COMS ? - I'm waiting for that sub NAZ 2000 mother of all buying opps; before I venture into many individual names again. I want to see how "soft" soft is; before making any indiv bets. There will obviously be lots of "baby's thrown out with the bathwater" in Tech...

OSX not reacting much here; which is fine as I felt it would be a 1/2 day , to a day late - back & fill type of sector laggard in what "could" be a 5-10 day rally here. Maybe everyone wants to see the API's first ? Crude down $1... etc.

Greenspan just set the stage for a relief rally & the OSX "pausing here" is giving us a slow motion entry opp for a nice little trade imo. Surely lots of short-covering in the NAZ and I'll be curious to see how we close. Today's close will be telling. Foreign markets closing up nicely...

If the NAZ gets to 3200-3500; the ultimate Bull Trap Hook is set... the euphorians & bubbleonians won't learn here; but they will come late spring/early summer next year...this may be their last hurrah...

Smart Money will be selling large Institutional Tech positions into this strength imo.
