Regardless of the slowdown in growth, there remains an imbalance in supply and demand at current levels of consumption. So we need a recession to really affect oil from the demand side. I think the SPR release was incredibly well timed - the oil showed up at the beginning of the typical season for draws and created a build. Hence a strangely bearish appearance to inventories. We'll see how the API's are tonight, but the builds should pretty much be over next or the week after.
