they didn't in '93 either. in fact they signaled the TOP of that particular rally when they finally spiked. however, i would agree that there is little danger of a run-away bull move with lease rates low...i.e. a spike like last year's is unlikely here. my best guess is that we will continue to see some backing and filling near the recent lows followed by a gradual rise, and eventually a full-fledged panic a la Yen in late '98 as the carry trade unwinds.
