I am not particularly good at riddles, but if you are not talking about making any buys or sells, what would it matter what you were in for those two days? I guess cash would at least make you some interest....

The answer is A. The 300 point loss would be a smaller percentage of the NDX after the gain, than the 300 pt gain would be.
