Rocky, why do you think Lexar has the fastest controller technology. I was under the impression that SSTI makes the fastest CF cards, due to its controller technology.

SSTI's CF cards can transfer data at 11.2Mb/s. That's faster than 10baseT/2 Ethernet and certainly sufficient for mpeg playback.

Is it a claim directly from Lexar or from independent testing?

With mpeg4 movies coming soon to a PDA and cellphone near you,
the need for high-speed flashcards will be significant.

I don't see mpeg4 video being a killer app, Rocky.
Who is going to look at video on a PDA screen?
I have a pocket movie viewer for my Cassiopeia E-100
and it is amazing, but I can't find any real life
applications for it just yet. Maybe I will change
my mind if my next digital camera has a movie mode
or if I end up buying a digital camcorder.

BTW, the videos I downloaded from the Internet are
movie trailers and they play perfectly well on my
SanDisk cards. I don't think read speed is an issue.

I don't even think write speed is an issue, for that matter.
