I thought this was the Dell thread? Significant announcements regarding new products and offerings from Dell today that will go quite a ways to boost their competitive position in the enterprise space and no one has any opinion on it. Amazing... Good news is completely ignored in bear markets. To anyone following Dell, these aren't just your run of the mill "were shipping a new box" announcements. OpenManage just went to Version 6.0 with many new improvements, added capabilities, server and storage config and better Web UI. Dell will also begin shipping a 32-way system based on Unisys CMP server architecture in Q1. They also have greatly expanded their service offerings and commitment to market these offerings more aggressively. These 3 things will go a long way to help Dell move up the food chain. And as an added bonus, Dell announced a few new 1U rack dense servers today and the second generation of it's PowerApp line of appliance servers. Strategically important stuff IMO that will boost further enterprise business. I'm surprised nobody noticed. MEATHEAD
