People that fight to live a moral life on earth will willingly submit to a cruel and immoral tyrant in the afterlife. Would you continue supporting your local priest if you knew that he was doing your children, and ran a torture chamber in his basement? Would you vote for either Gore or Bush, if you knew they killed and tortured people? Then how can you convince your soul to cast out all your ethics, and all your beliefs, and submit yourself to the President of Heaven, the Master of the Universe, when you know that he has made the choice to keep people alive so that they will suffer forever? How can any human being make a free choice to worship and obey such a monster? How will you stand yourself as you wander around in heaven while your fellow humans--that you ate and drank with, and talked politics and the theatre with--are gnashing their teeth being burnt alive in eternal fire. In the moral structure on earth we don't even torture animals. We know that the only purpose that can possibly be served by causing another to suffer, is if it was to give the torturer some type of pleasure or satisfaction. It does nothing for the person being tortured. It doesn't help them to become better, or to change. I have never meant anyone that would allow that kind of behaviour to go unchallenged here on earth. It is unthinkable. Likewise, it is unthinkable that these same people that I speak with and talk with in daily life--that these people would turn their heads the other way while their neighbour's children or parents, or perhaps their own, and their best friends, and their loved ones--are tortured without end...tortured and tortured and tortured and tortured...never to be relieved by a merciful death. This is what you REALLY want? You would support this on earth? Will you renounce all your values once you reach heaven? Will you embrace all the evils that you fought aginst here? Will you laugh at the silly efforts to go into countries to help hungry children, and to take medicine and comfort to the dying? Will you chuckle at the sheer foolishness of your old values, as you and God watch these children burn and scream? No wonder a third of the angels left.
