BC is the Canadian version of California: The Land of Fruits and Nuts.
Complacency rules supreme in BC, from letting the province be ruled by a non-elected premier to tolerating welfare and dope growing (neither one generates tax revenue and as such, does not contribute to the health of the province) becoming the two largest industries in the province.
There is a noticeable sucking sound coming from Ottawa and a very similar, if not quite as loud, sucking sound coming from Victoria.

It was a few years now, but I remember reading that Ottawa extracts $8,000 per year from every man, woman, and child in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia for re-distribution in other regions. I don't think this number has seen any recent reductions. Now I ask myself what I'd value most, $8,000 per year, compounded over my lifetime in my pocket, or having Bi-lingualism, Mountain re-naming, Young Offenders Acting, Gun Controlling, Health Care Chopping, Oil Stealing, Metric Throat-ramming, Liberal government in Ottawa buying support to perpetuate themselves at my expense.

Well said, and I bet you would rather have the 8 g's in your pocket.......... right?
