Monty, you must have had a bad day no matter what you said about your covering short positions (just like your buddy bambs).

C'mon, not tempted to short when the Nasdaq was up about 170 --around noon OR even when it hit 230. Sorry, I don't believe you.

I am just taking kidding you. The shorts had a lot of fun the past 3 months and now it is time for things to change.....and it will!

The Nasdaq is going to cut through 3000, like a hot knife through butter. I don't buy the so called experts' opinions that it will have a hard time cracking 3000. They will be suprised...and I think you will be too!

Monty, Interesting note for you.

VTSS just got added to the S and P 500 and JNPR should get in soon, IMHO.

That is my advice to you; JNPR is a very very risky short---you never know when it will get added to the S and P 500. I think it is getting close. In addition, the gains on such news will be HUGE! Remember it is not even in the S and P midcap 400 now, unlike VTSS. No index funds will be holding this one when the announcement is made. 50+ point gain in one day is pretty realistic.
Even though you said you don't value my opinion; I am letting you know of this danger anyways. If you are planning to short, you may be much better off elsewhere (even Cisco)

Just my "humble" opinion.

BTW--just remember the difference between S and P midcap being transfer to the S And P 500 and the ones that go directly into the 500 (such as YHOO, AOL, BRCM and JDSU did in the past--those moves were very large)

I know you don't value my opinion but I have let you know anyways.

Monty, It looks like all of those that started buying late last week were right, despite the absolute gloom being spread around with a shovel. I hope that you had taken some long positions...tp
