I don't really understand your analogy. Who ascribes honor to a slaughterhouse or a Denny's?

As to DesertStorm-- it was a one-sided annihilation. However, I generally don't equate human and cow lives. I think the actual fatality count is 100K-200K Iraqi soldiers, and approaching 1M civilians from the effects of a decade of sanctions. I believe the number of dead Americans is in the low hundreds, mostly from friendly fire.

Pretty much every war the US has been involved in over the last century has involved a whole lot of dead others, and a whole lot fewer dead us. Perhaps the dead(them)/dead(us) ratio has risen as the US tech >> people we don't like tech ratio has increased. If it's a just war, it's all good, right?
