Thank you all for a most engaging and amicable discussion, which I've been reading avidly for a few weeks now.

Is there a link to a quick primer on PE/Gs that would allow me to calculate and understand these for myself?

I keep reading that these are much more useful indicators than PEs.

Two years ago I was a complete novice at all this. Now I'm still chronically underinformed - worried i'd turned into a gambler/speculator but attempting to survive this year as an investor....

No more CMGI or ENGA for me. No more SNMM. But I'm still holding.
Libbyt - I'm in XLNK too - rode it to 80 (pre-split), never sold a share (story of my investing life - on all the above stocks).
I rode INKT up too, but sold just before I went into the red on it and haven't bought back. Been in and out of ARBA - the only thing i've "traded".
Holding some of your picks for 2001: JDSU, BRCM, VRSN, TXN -and kicking myself for selling CHKP and NOK a couple of weeks ago, and for not getting into NTAP last week.
Oh well.

Anyone got any tips for how to forgive oneself those expensive mistakes? I'm trying to get educated and protect my investments, but sometimes that's easier said than done. I don't rate myself sufficiently qualified to post a 10 for 2001. Maybe next year i'll make the grade!

Now - back to lurking....
