QwikSand ... re commercial hedgers and S&P futures ... maybe Aaron Task knows what he is talking about, but from what I know, it is not futures prices that 'drive' the S&P 500 Index (the SPX), but that the actual prices of the 500 stocks in the index that determine the index price, which in turn determine futures prices. If any one has a more accurate or better understanding of how that works, I would like to hear it.

Dear QwikSand ... yesterday morning at my regular breakfast haunt, a good friend handed me a beautiful all black (with white lettering) long-sleeved Sun Microsystems T-shirt with the great Sun logo and all - all cotton ... it feels reeeeeeeeeeelll good, and I look pretty spiffy in it for an old guy. <g>

'Just finished reading Bob Woodward's new book, "Maestro: Greenspan's Fed and the American Boom" ... I recommend it to all of you - it is great background reading for investors.

It is also fast-paced, fun and very enjoyable - a quick 229 pages.
