maui, Re: It said Intel will have record quarter and they can do that by having their revenue 1% higher over Q3, which would be 3 to 7% below their guidance for Q4

My bet is they will meet the low side of the guidance which is 4%(?) well may be 3% sequential growth.

Ref- <Unfortunately, Intel was wrong last quarter and have lost credibility >

Yes Intel was the first to warn, but after the earnings came out, the earnings missed the original projection by such a small amount that people wondered why Intel warned in the first place.

In my opinion Intel has higher credibility than any other high tech company. It appears to be extremely conscientious about about warning as early as possible. It has warned earlier than its customers, and appears to have a better handle on forecasting than Compaq, HP , Dell Gateway etc.

Having said that, I also wonder if Craig Barret knew what he was saying. If Intel can really pull off a humdrum quarter, while everyone else is crumbling, Intel should smell like a rose !

However in this market, all the roses will also be trampled into the dust.

Hi Maui, RE: "It said Intel will have a record quarter and they can do that by having their revenue 1% higher over Q3, which would be 3 to 7% below their guidance for Q4. Did they say they will meet their guidance ?"

Good point.

RE: "Wish I had more cash to buy Intel!"

Me too. These are great buys.
