John - DELL will benefit, as always, from Intel engineering development, and will offer whatever Intel comes up with. That should include at least 8-way McKinley systems. I would also expect DELL to drive 64 bit workstations. DELL has a good workstation business and strong products, and 64 bit is a big advantage at the high end of that market.

I expect DELL will take a long time to get to a point where they would have any significant share in the high end, especially 64 bit systems. CPQ, HP and IBM have been offering 64 bit systems for years, and have large machine architectures in the works which DELL will not be able to duplicate on Intel's coattails.
