Since you asked, I'm not ramming it down your throat! <VBG> This is it in a nutshell. Dualism is the nature of reality. Buy embracing the virtues I identified (not an exhaustive list, BTW) you are drawn to these and them to you. I think another state that is also stable is one of "evil", though I don't use that term for the same reason I refrain from using the term God (too much baggage). As individuals we are responsible for our choices. If we chose the negative affiliation, I can't say anything horrible will happen to you for sure other than you suffer from being a "sh*t magnet". I can't prove this, but in my life, it seems to be true. This type of magnetism causes other negative things to stick to you or at least makes it more likely that they will. If you go through life giving other people grief, I suspect that you don't live a happy life because a lot of unhappy people now identify you with their unhappiness. I can't prove this but it appears to be true. All "bad" people don't die horrible deaths (though frequently they do) any more than all good people die peaceful easy deaths (though I bet a higher percentage than "evil" people). You are still playing a game of roulette and weird, unexplained stuff can and will happen. The most you can hope for is to coat yourself with something that sticks to stuff you like and repels the stuff you don't like. This is my philosophy. It doesn't need afterlives, though they might exist. It certainly simplifies your life. It is said in the bible: Job 4:8 As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it. See, there is some good stuff in there.
