Ted: Labor really flexed its muscle in Pennsylvania on Nov. 7. It was good to see the traditional Democrats come out in such force to give Gore the popular vote victory. I'm sure you have many friends who are or were union members. Have you ever thought as to why organized labor came out so strongly for Gore ... much more so than in '96 or '92 or '88?

I don't know much about welfare checks. There are a lot of right-wingers on this board who might be able to help you out in this area; they are "above" work, and I suspect several might indeed be on welfare. For the record, I've been employed steadily for the past 29 years. My wife has taught school for 28 years, except for a few years when she stayed home with our kids. Hard, honorable work is all I know.
