After almost two thousand years the resurrection is still the best explanation for the empty tomb of Jesus. And not tomb raiders or misreporting or fraud? Occam's razor. As for pillar of smoke by day and fire by night, this is a common occurance in volcanic erruptions. Things glowing at 1200 degC don't produce much light (and are certainly dark relative to a day sky), yet they would produce a visible glow at night. Have you ever seen a wildfire first hand? Very impressive. Column of smoke by day, fire by night.
