Democrats do not represent the common working man who starts his own business.

This is probably the dividing line in how each party defines "individual".

Well said Gordon.

They don't represent the common working man either. They throw them a bone every now and then to gain their trust. Then party hacks such as flap can convince the working masses to vote dem by demonizing the conservative party. It's all about gathering a mindless voter base. The communist word for it is propaganda.

By the way flap, maybe you should think about going up on the dues. You might actually win next time.

Re: "Democrats do not represent the common working man who starts his own business."

Neither do the Republicans. If they did, we would have heard something from GWB during the campaign on the fact that most small-business owners pay a helluva lot more in income taxes than what GE paid last year (8 percent).

But GWB and the Repubs have always been silent on this topic. How come? Because most of the money the GOP gets comes from mega-businesses that don't give a rat's behind for the small-businessman.
