Is the move towards RIMM, Palm, Handspring, even MSFT pocket PCs really going to eliminate the need for the PC?
It could put a small dent in Intel business but only for a very short time.

Could it not be true that people don't like to buy merchandise that will be outdated---ie. P3 will be phased out while Pentium 4 is phased. These types of buying patterns can emerge when MSFT introduced Windows95, 98 etc.
I think it is no different in this case.

Maybe some of the PC slowdown is really people holding back. Another words, overeaction!

Just trying to figure out whether to buy Intel or any other PC stocks.

SSB:growing confidence that Intel would miss its quarter. Dan Niles is negative too
In fact, Salomon Smith Barney analyst noted that the quarter was "shaping up to be the worst in over a decade" for Intel... He also said that he had growing confidence that Intel would miss its quarter...Influential Lehman analyst, Dan Niles, chimed in by noting that Intel should have enough data within the next few days to be able to assess the quarter... In other words, if they're going to warn they're likely to do so within the next several days.
