I didn't mean to imply that I will blindly hold Amcc for 30+ years.

The real money was not made investing in the box makers. How would you have known in the beginning of the pc era that Dell would be the real winner? Even if you had invested in a number of box makers and included Dell you'd have underperformed the market. The money was made on the companies that sold to all the box makers.... Intel and Msft didn't care who won the pc market.

Amcc is to NT, ALA, LU, etc as Msft was to the box makers. Let amcc's customers fight it out. Amcc will sell to whoever pays the bills.
