This guy, Todd Bernier(sp?) of Morningstar is the same clown that was bashing Q 4-6 weeks ago. He did make one correct statement in today's interview, "I was wrong before and I'll probably be wrong this time".

Ben,

I listened to that Morningstar analyst and I now know why respect for their opinions are so low.

The only words of wisdom were "That a good question" which were repeated over and over.

His comment that ERICY was a large scale manufacturer of CDMA handsets shows his research ability.

His comments on Qualcomm's management high earnings guidance were possibly slanderous.

My opinion of his worth.....he might make a good DUCK!

If he can quack?

John

Ben, the female interviewer is even worse. As a team they sound like those shills you hear on those radio pitch shows trying to sell the latest cure to cancer...

"Now tell me Bob, why is this product so successful?"
"Well Susan...

What a joke.

Audio Analyst: QCOM's Stock Is Over-Valued [13.0 min]
biz.yahoo.com

I listened to the interview and read the four responses to now.

I agree on the following: The interviewer was lame and the analyst made numerous mistakes.

That said, I was also listening to him with our experience of the last year firmly in mind. When QCOM came off $179 ($200 in morning) and dropped $30 or so, I said this is crazy and bought some more. Cut to July when it hit $52 and I had to wonder who was crazy?

The fact is QCOM is a lightening rod for both opportunity and trouble. The road in the future will be bumpy; maybe not like earlier this year, and then again, who knows?

So, while I might chuckle at analysts like this, I learned this past year not to laugh so hard and loud that it clouds my thinking and judgement.

Disclosure: I was buying all the way down into the high $50s and have never sold one share.
