"The retail patzer hasn't read about what China Unicom's market share happens to be, and how they finance growth..."

Ray- China Unicom raised $5.7 billion via listing in New York and Hong Kong. China Mobile raised $6.2 billion in 1997. Number one carrier in China, China Telecom may raise as much as $10 billion on their IPO. All this as part of China becoming a member of the WTO. They plan to allow up to 50% foreign ownership in their telecommunications companies. I hope this comes to pass. The sooner the better.

As a side note, Asia has 100 million cable TV households. The USA has 66 million.

I see lot's of potential in China for all types of telecommunications companies. -MikeM(From Florida)
