Michael,
The election is giving some cover here for a stealth start to a gold run up. For six months everyone has been saying the dollar is key, and so it is, but now that the dollar is dropping into bear country, the election debacle provides cover for the golden move.

I think it a fair assumption that most people assume the election troubles are the cause of the gold's price rise. My opinion is they are more a manifestation than a cause.

Being a gold bear market of considerable duration, it is to be expected that the actual reversal will be explained away by various news items such as the election, while more fundamental items such as the dollar and the charts indicate
that no excuses will be accepted.

Because of the camouflage, even long term (and much abused!) gold equity bulls (I suppose there are some left) will sell too early, expecting a quick retrace.

This morning was both a wonderful example of that price action and a good buy in.

Do you suppose that we get a chance to buy again when we hit near the XAU 200 DMA or perhaps if Bush gets confirmed (as enough folks believe the "excuse" and sell). If so I agree, but am not completely confident that we will get the chance.

Glad to see you reading the thread Michael, as I know you are a seasoned trader and that is a good indication to me for AEM and gold in itself.

Best Regards,

Roebear
