No list of states necessary. "Backwater" modified "legislature," not "state." I would suspect, though, that the General Assemblies of all 50 states could probably be considered "backwater" in some sense. Re: "This country is blessed with the most apolitical military imaginable." Right. That's why Drudge posted a link yesterday to a story in which the military was told not to be disrespectful to Gore or Clinton. Forget which one. I don't loathe the military. I'm just fearful of what happens to warriors when they no longer have battles to fight. I am ashamed of nothing I said tonight. I stand behind every word.
