A good start. We gapped down inside the old wedge (aka your "channel"). Hope buck stays sick.

The carrier market / clec / optical equipment / colocation market has been in the crapper for months, why is this information still a surprize to anyone?

The "killer ap" that has been fueling internet demand (so they say) has been Napster. Now it looks like that within the next year Napster will have to start imposing fees, which will lower demand for bandwidth. In turn, unless most carriers go to VoIP to the desktop, I don't know why someone would need to have a big pipe going into their home. There should be somewhat of a median established / establishing of how much bandwidth per person is needed.

Now, I don't know what is coming up over the next year that will fuel more bandwidth demand. I'm thinking that there has to be a method for video / TV delivery, kind of like a TIVO model that needs to be created for the next big push for bandwidth. Problem is, I don't see that coming soon.

It would be great for me if someone took on part of this discussion.
