Nice spin but spin it is. The Gore side filed first via various proxies in the butterfly ballot cases. It has been reported that Gore encouraged and funded several of these suits. Suppression of a standardless, subjective, " hand recount" of ballots intended to be read by machine, not human eyes, is indeed exactly what Bush seeks. His points are well taken. Gore seeks to keep "recounting" until he manufactures enough votes to prevail. End of story.

Dear Ellen: If she told Poe to "go fly a kite" more power to her. haha. Actually, you are quoting from the Plaintiffs side of the story. THE TRUTH is both sides prepared the ballot REQUEST FROM by computer and both sides filled in ALL THE INFORMATION on the form BY COMPUTER EXCEPT in the Republicans case someone FOULED UP and the printer DIDNT PRINT the Voter ID number on the ballot request. It was not necessary for the Democrat ballots to be updated with that number cause THEIR COMPUTER AND THEIR DATA BASE put it on. It was necessary for the Republican cause their didnt. Now, I ask you, what is the difference whether the Democrats imprint the number on the ballot REQUEST FORM before it is mailed out or the Republicans do it AFTER it is mailed out. Both used their OWN DATA BASES. JDN
