Mark Abelson - Some have said Bob will announce the future of the Moneytalk Radio Program on Saturday, December 16. If there is no future, it makes sense that Sunday December 17 would be the last day for the program with Bob as host.

A few months ago, a talk show host on Business Radio Network was reported to have said that Bob will retire when his contract expires in December. Some have posted to the effect that a trade journal also reported Bob's decision to retire.

On each weekend's program, Bob has been thanking listeners for 15 great years during the past two months. Unlike past years, Bob has not touted any upcoming January Super Bowl Sunday celebration of the program's anniversary. Bob has expressed outrage at those who repackage and sell copyright content referring to such people as "bottomfeeders". Despite his apparent urging that such efforts related to Bob's own original work stop out of deference to Bob's wishes, the efforts continue. So now, except for Marketimer subscribers, all others lose out.

Listeners are holding the weak negotiation hand. Since 1981 in New York and January 1986 nationally, they got Bob's valuable lessons and outlook free until now. Bob now apparently is unwilling to continue his generosity since people resell his original work for profit - a choice he has the right to make.

It's customary in the radio industry to make retirement announcements on the last day of the program.

BTW: Speculation is bobbrinker.com website will continue, and, the newsletter will continue.

I'm sure you now understand.
