Well, I think Bush should fight hard but fair. The problem I have with Gore is not so much the contest as his message. By asserting the disingenous and factually inaccurate premise that not all the votes have been counted and refusing to acknowledge that every election has some ballots which have no votes in particular races, Gore's message has the effect of delegitimizing a Bush Presidency, even if he is ultimately successful. I think Bush, for all the hypocrisy on the Repub side has well has been much more measured in his statements along these lines. JLA

Democrats deserve nothing but
scorn

To hell with bipartisanship; this is
war.

In its place is a criminal enterprise -- a gang of legal weasels and
language manipulators, sly cynics and devious cheats more than
willing to tear down the republic so they can rule over the ruins.

In his remarks Monday, Vice President-elect Dick Cheney spoke of
the Bush administration's desire to work with Democrats. I hope he
doesn't mean it. At this point, the only reason to reach across the
aisle is to land a solid sock on the jaw. Consorting with criminals is
corrupting.
