The crazies of the world are enjoying a population explosion. Everywhere one turns, some nutcase snaps and hacks, shoots, or bombs one or another group of innocent people going about their business trying their best to enjoy life and provide for their families. Although I've never met any of our more annoying TMs in person, I have no doubt that I would not find their company pleasant. Fortunately, the world offers a tremendous diversity of people from which we can select companions for our journey through life, and who will add a richness and joy to our experience. Our time on earth is simply too short for squandering any of it on the mean-spirited. Christmas is coming soon. I was gathering ideas for gifts, and took a quick walk through the software aisle at a local tech store. I was surprised to see Microsoft products behind glass doors. Who could shoplift this stuff? And it wasn't expensive stuff either -- Office, PowerPoint, Win ME upgrades... Anyway, the impression I was left with was that this is valuable stuff! Cheers, PW. P.S. A while ago some friends were discussing a recent newspaper article about attack-proof cars. We were speculating about who would need one in our area. Not wanting to miss an opportunity to do some kidding, I said that my car was armoured. And if anyone who wanted to take a look, the only clues visible from the outside was the indications on the glass. Sure enough, curiosity won and they were amazed to see the SECURIT etched into all windows. I basked in the exclusivity for a while before telling them I was kidding and that Securit is etched into the glass on every Mercedes.
