Mike,

<< Have you read "Network to Net Worth"? >>

I have not.

How do you rate it on a scale of 1 to 10?

I read the first half of Gilder's "Telecosm" over Thanksgiving.

I need to finish it, before going on to another book.

I do not view it as an investing manual.

I don't listen to Gilder investing wise.

I do think that both "Telecosm" & "Microcosm" are great companions to "Gorilla Game" just as is "Chasm", "Tornado", "Dilemma", & "Computer Wars"..

<< I believe that Cisco, Intel, Microsoft, Siebel, Oracle and all the great Gorillas have gained sustainable competitive advantage partly from the network effects. That's because the network effect is what the value chain is all about. >>

My interest is aroused.

Do you consider "Network to Net Worth", to be the best starting point for examining the network effect?

Trying to figure out if I should read Leon Uris's new novel "God in Ruins" (?) after I finish "Telecosm" or "Network to Net Worth?"

- Eric -

Aren't "Network Effect" and "Value Chain" roughly equivalent terms? I have always thought of them as such. (Maybe value chain is a large subset of network effect?)
