Thanks for that, sir.

I'm by no means any kind of expert on these political things. And yeah, it's unfortunate that people feel the need to attack things they don't understand. Your observation about power and the attainment of same is a very important one.

I think at some point, we, as rational people, must make a choice about what we wish to allow to let happen in the future. I, as all my friends know, could be described as an 'optimist'. I'm more interested in making someone feel better than in making them feel worse. I think the future can be better than the present, if we all work towards that goal. I have to temper that optimism with my strong belief that the only way we can get there is by recognizing the similarities in each other rather than the differences, the good points in each other rather than the bad points, and the hope in each other rather than the despair.

I know what it is like to not have a job, to not be able to make a contribution to the society, and to not be able to take care of my family. To me, there is no worse feeling in the world. I know what it is like to have more money than I need that day, and to be able to help others that deserve some help. It's a great feeling.

Regardless of which side of the Gore/Bush fence we are on, I hope that whenever this nightmare is over, we can stand back and say that we can do whatever we can to make this ball of dirt a better place than it was yesterday.

Gosh. That sounds deep. Sorry. <G>
