Dear Ellen: I am unaware of any Republican mischief. Now as to Miami Dade county, if I could be assured that the standards followed in Palm Beach and carefully watched over by Judge Burton, who obviously had the strength on that board, were followed I would welcome a hand count in Miami/Dade. Counting ONLY the heavy democrat precincts Gore picked up I believe 168 votes. That was in precincts that went heavily for Gore. The Precincts left to count went in favor of Bush. I suspect Bush would win on a recount of Miami Dade votes. JDN
