Intel sees Q4 revenue miss
--4:29 pm - By August Cole
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (CBS.MW) -- Intel said late Thursday fourth-quarter revenue will come in below expectations after some customers have cancelled orders. The company expects fourth-quarter revenue will be flat with, or a "couple of percentage points" above or below, the third-quarter level of $8.7 billion. Wall Street expected the chipmaker to notch 4 percent to 8 percent growth. Specifically, the company said gross margin for the fourth quarter will come in about 63 percent. Intel (INTC: news, msgs) shares closed up ahead of the halt up 63 cents to $33.31.
