Do not forget -- when the Korean economy hit the middle class' "pocketbook" (1998), Koreans actually stepped up their rate of signing up for wireless service. It was the vacation tour operators who suffered tremendously. (Maybe a lot of people figured out that Maurice lives in New Zealand, and were afraid of meeting up with him if they went there, and decided to stay home (?))
