Saturn V, Re: Craig Barret should not have given the interview earlier this week

I would say it once again, best COO but a lousy CEO. This is typical Peter's principle at work.

Saturn, re: But Craig had to know about ... etc, etc

Darned right he knew. Intel is a huge outfit. Isn't necessary for Barrett to do the calculations on the road. There are armies of personnel that do this day in and day out, every day. And he is constantly in touch with the home office. I can't understand why he didn't stay quiet. Major credibility hit, IMHO.

RE: "But Craig had to know about order cancellations, even when he was travelling! I am sure that he was getting updates from his VP Sales via E-Mail"
---------------------------------

Hi Saturn, In the industry, a prospectus has to be reviewed by legal and cannot be distributed prior to a review. Maybe a warnings press release needs to be reviewed by legal too. Maybe a CEO has to say, "currently guidance is the same" until the CFO completes a press release with a PR person and legal approves it. That would be my guess.

However, if that's not the case, then the CFO needs to speed it up. Actually, even if that's the case, the CFO needs to speed it up a bit. I believe there's no reason that the Street should know before we do.
