I tend to agree depending on the systems. I am impressed by current US reactor performance and the new GE ABWR plant.
Unfortunatly we have had problems in Canada with our CANDU
reactors in recent years. You cant't totally condemn large scale power by large scale coal and bunker oil fired plants with pollution controls. Not too many industries or office
complexes want a coal pile in their backyard. The large scale conversion to natural gas as a primary fuel in older
power plants and non-cogeneration type plants in the last few years is affecting us now with soaring natural gas prices.
