I'm glad AMD doesn't have any exposure to that flash trash. You also might want to look up effect and affect-- your last sentence make you sound rather ignorant.

"Growth is still significant in server and notebooks..."

You may want to re-listen to the CC where it was stated that notebook sales were slowing down. How long will the "still significant" remain for INTC after AMD's launches their high end notebook chips? (yea, I know....we're all still waiting for that).

CG,

<. Primary weakness is in consumer sector and AMD is a one trick pony there. >

Not true. Primary weakness is US consumer market. Yes, AMD is more exposed but let's try to be a little accurate. Also, flash is a large part of AMD revenues and an even larger part of profits. Why ignore that? Especially when people never fail to ignore lot of Intel's doomed diversification efforts?

<Growth is still significant in server and notebooks where AMD is invisible. >

That is true but the more recent data indicates growth in both these markets is slowing down because of dotcom bust.

<Much like INTC however, I don't think AMD's warning will effect the stock price much. >

I hope so.

Cory,

Much like INTC however, I don't think AMD's warning will effect the stock price much.

I speculated about this (in a very confusing manner) a few days ago. My opinion is that a potential warning by AMD would be a very bad news, since AMD had a lot of cushion between the earnings estimates by analysts and the internal estimates.

INTC was on the path of anemic growth, while AMD was on the path of a substantial growth. If both end up with flat unit sales, and $ sales, it is a lot more disappointing for AMD than INTC.

I have no idea what exactly is priced into the AMD stock price, so I don't know what the reaction would be if AMD warned as well.
