Hi Slacker,

I recall that last spring there was an issue of MOT and other foreign investments being declared illegal by the PRC. I never did hear about any resolution to the potential losses to MOT in an action reminiscent to nationalizations in other periods in Mexico, Cuba and Venezuela. Though the ownership transfer would have been to opaque Chinese corporations. Some with ties to the PLA:

I'll keep an eye out for news along these lines. BTW, Xinhua is the "official" news service for the PRC. Think of it as the Pravda or Tass of the modern age.
