Maui,

AMD earning in last 4 quarters are : 23c, 57c, 61c, 64c (according to Yahoo). Do you realise that by their defination, if AMD earns 67c or less, then it becomes their worst quarter in a year by their defination.

67c would point to a decelerated growth, but there are a couple of variable in your series that are not apparent. AMD started paying 20% of tax in Q2, which (apples to apples) means .23, .57, .61/.8, .64/.8, which is .23, .57, .76, .80. Now, if you factor in the sale of communication division (and loss of earnings from that), the growth of the remaining business looks even more impressive. The sale was partially factored in to Q3 results, and will be fully factored in for Q4.
