Not so sure about Elon. I live in Chicago. This place is booming. I must be able to see 30 cranes from here. Lots of people who live in the suburbs are now building second homes in the city. Others are buying old homes or factories and either retro-fitting or doing tear-downs. I sell pretty expensive art and see a lot of new expensive homes and I have yet to see a smart house. I even ask people about it. They are disinterested. They don't want to start the bath water from the off-ramp. Major entertainment centers, central vacuuming and spiffy doodah light switches, but that's it. I don't think Elon is going to do any better than color faxes.
