JailKeeper The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department JailKeeper products are currently being used to track inmates, their property, their legal records and their court visits throughout Los Angeles County. Symbol scanners are attached to over 200 desktop computers at the new Inmate Reception Center in to speed this operation. Employee ID cards printed by JailKeeper’ ID Card Printing application are scanned as part of the tracking process to insure a complete audit trail of all transactions. Over 200 Symbol Access Points have been installed with 200 more to be installed this year throughout the county. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is in the process of installing digital cameras and fingerprint scanners in expectation of implementing JailKeeper’ Inmate Identification application in Q2 2000.
