i thought i noticed something like that a little while ago. but not now. i've been messing with graphics card drivers and such, so i was getting all manner of display weirdness.

going on and off?

Not today, but it has in the past. Except in PMs. One PM today had a really tiny font. As long as other sites are well behaved, I've learned to ignore funny stuff on SI. :-)
